Hmong New Year is celebrated at the end of the harvest season. Traditionally, the New Year festivities occur in each town. The towns stagger the dates of the festivities from August to December so that the community can partake in each other's celebration.
Our Chico Hmong Culture Festival will be held on October 1st and 2nd, 2011 at Marsh Jr. High. Everyone's invited to attend this unique Hmong Culture Festival. The opening ceremony and ribbon cutting will start at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, led by one of our well known and respected Hmong leaders, President Zang Her of Hmong International New Year, Chong Vang - Son of GVP and the Mayor of Chico. We will have many important key leaders from the Hmong community as well as local, state, and federal elected officials. We sincerely hope that everyone can attend our wonderful event.
